Thanet District Council have announced their plans to undertake a dog DNA registration scheme to help combat dog fouling and improve levels of animal welfare.

Thanet District Council also recognises the wider benefits that dog DNA registration may provide. These include:
'Pugshots' a campaign to help actively challenge behaviour through putting a face to dog waste using DNA technology.
'PooPrints' using dog DNA technology to improve civic pride and social responsibility in east London.
